Maintenance tips

The here mentioned products are available in the Netherlands. We can't assure you that they are known in other countries.

Cushion covers:

Since the covers are made of original materials from the 60s and 70s and therefore somewhat vulnerable, we recommend it inside out and hand wash in lukewarm soapy water. Do not use any centrifuge, to avoid possible 'washingstripes.

Wood furniture:

Circles and scratches are best treated with meubeline of HG. Liberally apply the meubeline with a clean, lint-free cloth in straight lines and let it be absorbed into the wood for up to 6 to 10 hours. If the meubeline is local absorbed within that time, it needs retreatment. If the product is fully absorbed, remove the remainder with a clean cloth.

Available at drugstores and hardware stores at ca. € 7,50

Plastic furniture:

Marks and blemishes can be removed with the Powersponge from Mascot. Available at Action. 5 sponges for € 0.99. The plastic is shiny and beautiful again with anti-static "HG dirt repellent polish for synthetics". A little polish on a dry cloth and rub firmly with a circular, overlapping motion. Then polish with a soft, dry cloth.

Available at drugstores and hardware stores at ca. € 8,95

Chrome:

Light rust spots and dullness are best treated with Starglanz. Available at around € 9.90 at for example Blokkker. Severe corrosion can often only be removed by intensive treatment with a polishing wheel and polishing paste.
